Word from the founder
I discovered Japan through travel, not tourism. My first trip was accidental. A detour that became a return. Since then I have visited more than ten times, across more than 20 prefectures, and each visit has deepened what I understand about the country.
What struck me most was not what Japan chooses to show visitors. It was what reveals itself only to those patient enough to wait for it. A craftsman's precision. The silence of a ryokan at dawn. A chef's reverence for a single ingredient.
I built Japanescence because I wanted to create something different. A way to travel that honours both the depth of Japan and the discernment of the traveller.
